In addition, there is a growing amount of high-quality events touching upon different aspects in the Sports Tech Research field.
As described in another blog post, some institutes organized themselves in bringing together experts from different faculties and departments in order to facilitate multidisciplinary collaborations, university-industry interactions, and technology transfer opportunities. However, there is still much work to be done in order to get a clear view of who is doing what, where, how, and when, and how this relates to real-world needs and opportunities.
Therefore, one of the goals of STRN is to yearly map the most promising innovations from the sports, tech, and business research fields so that third parties can pick in accordingly. The other way around, we plan to communicate challenges from teams, companies, or federations directly to the research community with the objective to increase the innovation level and potential impact, resulting in a shorter time to market.
With the newly formed Sports Tech Research Network, we aim to build bridges between the best Sports, Tech, and Business scientists and research-driven industry experts with the objective to make this highly fragmented space more transparent and visible to both the academic as well as the non-academic world.
As such, we hope to further bridge the gap between the academic, industry, and application sides of Sports Tech.
